- Which plan do I need?
- Driver is $29 a season and texts one phone. Fleet is $149 a season and alerts the office plus up to 10 drivers' phones. Both send email alerts too.
- Why a season pass, not a monthly plan?
- Frost laws only run a few months. One price for the season, December 1 to May 31, is simpler than a monthly plan you'd have to remember to cancel when the roads firm up. The season pass covers spring restrictions in every state, and winter increases in Minnesota and Wisconsin.
- What is the early-bird price?
- Buy before February 1 and the pass is $24 for Driver or $119 for Fleet, for the season ahead.
- Is there a contract?
- No. A pass covers one season and renews each year for the next one. You can cancel any time before it renews.
- Can I try it first?
- There is no free trial, but every county and zone status page is free to use, with the latest status, the agency’s notice and the road lists. Buy a pass when you want the texts.
- How do I pay?
- By card. Payments are handled by Stripe; ThawWatch never sees or stores your card number.
- Do drivers have to agree to the texts?
- Yes. Each phone confirms for itself before it gets alerts, and any phone can reply STOP to stop them.
- Do I still need to check with the road agency?
- Yes. ThawWatch reads the agencies' public notices, which can be late or wrong. Always confirm with the road agency before you travel.
