Terms of Service

Draft, last updated October 24, 2026

These terms are the agreement between you and Coderize (“we”, “us”), which runs ThawWatch. By creating an account or using thawwatch.com you agree to them.

Important: confirm with the road agency

ThawWatch statuses come from public road agency sources: county road agency notices and feeds, MDOT bulletins, and MnDOT and WisDOT zone data. They may be late, incomplete or wrong, and an agency can change its restrictions at any time. ThawWatch is an alert service, not the authority on any road. Always confirm with the road agency before you travel.

You are responsible for following the weight, speed and permit rules on every road you drive. ThawWatch is not liable for any fine, citation, permit fee, damage or other cost that follows from a status we showed or sent, or from an alert that was late or never arrived. Text and email delivery depends on carriers and email providers we don’t control.

The service

ThawWatch reads seasonal weight restriction (frost law) notices published by road agencies and alerts you by text and email when the status of a place you follow changes. We may add, change or remove features, places and sources over time.

Ending the service

You can close your account at any time by emailing support@thawwatch.com. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or goes unpaid.

No warranty

ThawWatch is provided “as is” and “as available”. We work to keep it accurate and running, but we do not promise that it is error-free, complete, timely or always available.

Limit of liability

To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you for anything to do with ThawWatch is limited to the amount you paid us in the three months before the claim, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including fines, lost loads, lost work or lost profit.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms we will update the date above and tell account holders by email before a significant change takes effect. Using ThawWatch after that means you accept the new terms.

Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan, and any dispute will be settled in the courts of Michigan.
